GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTENT OF THE TRAINING
The seminar aims to strengthen the capacities of civil society in the fight against armed robbery, maritime piracy, drug trafficking and IUU fishing, in accordance with the commitments of ECOWAS States, and those resulting from the resolutions of the Yaoundé Summit.
Specifically, the objectives of this seminar are:
- to teach members of civil society the Yaoundé architecture and the legal regime of maritime spaces as governed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea;
- to provide members of civil society with specific and accurate knowledge of armed robbery, maritime piracy and illicit trafficking offences;
- to give basic knowledge of how to set up a project, how to find financing and how to communicate.
