It is a technical training.
This training is part of a “professionalizing” scheme:
- “Fishery officer” training (level 1): from March 16 to 20, 2021.
- “Fishery officer” training (level 2): coming in 2022
It is specified that for access to the level 2 course, priority will be given to agents who have successfully completed the level 1 course.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTENT OF THE TRAINING
- Law of the sea, impacts of IUU fishing
- Description of target species and fishing techniques
- Description and targeting of fishing vessels
- On-board document checks
- Control procedures
- Calculation of bilge volumes
- Regional fisheries management organizations in the Gulf of Guinea
- Techniques for preserving evidence
- Practical exercises onboard fishing vessels
PEDAGOGICAL METHOD
The training will be sanctioned on the last day with a knowledge test.

Only complete applications corresponding to the target audience of the training are sent to ISMI for validation.
The application file, consisting of the following documents, should be sent to the defence attaché at the French embassy in your country:

A copy of your passport. The validity of the passport must cover a period of at least one month after the last day of training.
