Training 18.1:

• This is mandatory training that allows key security personnel to work as PSOs/PFSOs in the port or its facilities.
• The objective is for these employees to have knowledge and receive training in specific areas of security department management as described in the ISPS Code.
• In addition, it is necessary that employees, who are active in Maritime Affairs and perform a control function in the port, are also familiar with the ISPS legislation at the PFSO level.
• The result will be that the PSO/PFSO will be able to take effective and efficient measures, both preventive and incidental, to ensure adequate port security.
• The latter will have to consider the plan to return to control of the situation as soon as possible for each incident considered.
