The ISPS training courses organized in:
- Côte d’Ivoire (Abidjan and San Pedro)
- and in Senegal (Dakar)
are for the benefit of participants from the port authorities and the Maritime Affairs.
Recruitment formalities will be the responsibility of the port authorities concerned.
General description of the training content
Training 18.1:
- This is mandatory training that allows key security personnel to work as PSOs/PFSOs in the port or its facilities.
- The objective is for these employees to have knowledge and receive training in specific areas of security department management as described in the ISPS Code.
- In addition, it is necessary that employees, who are active in Maritime Affairs and perform a control function in the port, are also familiar with the ISPS legislation at the PFSO level.
- The result will be that the PSO/PFSO will be able to take effective and efficient measures, both preventive and incidental, to ensure adequate port security.
- The latter will have to consider the plan to return to control of the situation as soon as possible for each incident considered.
