The seminar is organized for shipowners and consignees, seafarers’ unions, maritime administrations, social welfare administrations, personnel of the judicial system (lawyers, judges), researchers, etc. from French-speaking countries of West and Central Africa.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTENT OF THE TRAINING

The training will cover the following points:
– The conventions governing maritime work
– The social security system of the seafarer
– The rules governing the conclusion and termination of the maritime . . employment contract
– The execution of the maritime employment contract
– The social benefits of seafarers
– The concepts of calculation of the seafarers’ rights and leave
– Maritime labor litigation. -
benefits granted.-
– The auditors will have a good knowledge of the social security regime granted to the seafarer;
– The auditors will have a good understanding of the rights and obligations of seafarers and shipowners under the maritime employment contract;
– The Auditors will have a good understanding of the procedures related to the management of maritime labor disputes, including the conditions for referring cases to the Maritime Labor Inspector and the Courts, the calculation of rights, calculation of leave, retirement, social benefits, etc;
– The auditors will have a good knowledge of the social benefits granted.
PEDAGOGICAL METHOD
The training will take the form of a face-to-face conference with the possibility of participating remotely.
The training will be sanctioned on the last day by a knowledge test.
