A few weeks ago, the DG of ARSTM opened up to French cooperation workers within the Interregional Maritime Safety Institute (ISMI) about a major need for protection equipment against COVID19 in order to enable the safe resumption of the maritime training provided by the Academy.

On the strength of its network and its knowledge of the various maritime projects in the sub-region, French cooperation has thus linked the Academy to the European programmes WeCAPS – Western and Central Africa Port Security – and GOGIN – Interregional Network for the Gulf of Guinea, which have undertaken to support ARSTM.

On Tuesday 7 July 2020, the Delegation of the European Union (DUE), represented by Mrs Anne-Catherine Claude, handed over a batch of COVID19 protection equipment to the DG of ARSTM, Mr Karim Coulibaly on behalf of the WeCAPS and GOGIN projects. A team effort that paid off!
